Read Colossians Chapter 3
Key Verses: Colossians 3:12-17
12 “Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”
If you were to sit back for a moment and really think about your walk with the Lord, where would you say it lines up? Do you see yourself somewhere at the height of a measuring stick? Or maybe you see yourself at the very bottom looking up in dismay… or possibly you see yourself somewhere in the middle.
If you consider the verses above and all the qualities you need to clothe yourself in, do you find yourself lacking in a particular area? As a Christian, your spiritual growth will be reflected in how well you do the things Paul describes in Colossians chapter three…
Seek help from the Bible, seek help from the Holy Spirit as you put into practice, not only these following attributes, but many more!

- Mercy
- Kindness
- Humility
- Gentleness
- Patience
- Forgiveness
- Love
- Harmony
- Peace
- Thankfulness
- Wisdom
Only the Lord and the message you read from your Bible will equip you with the kind of strength needed to walk in each of those attributes. Growing in your walk with the Lord is a personal decision and one you need to resolve within your own heart… are you going to pursue the Lord with everything you’ve got? Or are you going to remain passive and only pick and choose a few things you want to follow from His Word? Make the decision today to give your heart fully to the Lord and pursue each attribute listed above as something you want your life to exude. No matter what it is you are going through, Jesus, your Savior is right there with you to help you achieve everything you set your heart on doing, as long as you are representing the Lord Jesus Christ!
Prayer:
Jesus, You know my heart, You know the areas I struggle with, You know my heart can lead me away from You. Jesus, I pray that You would guide my heart and my mind, I pray that You would help me in the areas that need considerable growth. Jesus, help me be Your representative. Help me walk in tenderheartedness, mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, harmony, peace, thankfulness and wisdom. Fill me up Lord with Your presence. AMEN.
