Read Psalm Chapter 110 and 111
Key Verses: Psalm 111:1-2 and 9b-10…
“Author of chapter 110 is David; Author of chapter 111 is Anonymous”
1 The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit in the place of honor at My right hand
until I humble Your enemies,
making them a footstool under Your feet.”
2 The Lord will extend Your powerful kingdom from Jerusalem;
You will rule over Your enemies.
3 When You go to war,
Your people will serve You willingly.
You are arrayed in holy garments,
and Your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew.
4 The Lord has taken an oath and will not break His vow:
“You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord stands at Your right hand to protect You.
He will strike down many kings when His anger erupts.
6 He will punish the nations
and fill their lands with corpses;
He will shatter heads over the whole earth.
7 But He Himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way.
He will be victorious.
1 Praise the Lord!
I will thank the Lord with all my heart
as I meet with His godly people.
2 How amazing are the deeds of the Lord!
All who delight in Him should ponder them.
3 Everything He does reveals His glory and majesty.
His righteousness never fails.
4 He causes us to remember His wonderful works.
How gracious and merciful is our Lord!
5 He gives food to those who fear Him;
He always remembers His covenant.
6 He has shown His great power to His people
by giving them the lands of other nations.
7 All He does is just and good,
and all His commandments are trustworthy.
8 They are forever true,
to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.
9 He has paid a full ransom for His people.
He has guaranteed His covenant with them forever.
What a holy, awe-inspiring name He has!
10 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey His commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise Him forever!
PRAYER:
…First thing we must notice before we get into our prayer is that chapter 110 is a prophecy pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. Though Jesus would be sentenced to death on the cross…
“He Will Be Victorious!” Psalm 110:7b
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son Jesus and thank You for anointing Him as the spotless Lamb who would take away the sin of the world by His actions on the cross, but ultimately by raising from the dead! How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! Because I delight in Him, I will ponder over all the Lord has done. Everything my Savior shows me in my life reveals His Glory and Majesty! How grateful I am that His righteousness never fails even when I mess up. The Lord is gracious and merciful, when I am having a difficult time with things, my Lord scoops me up and shows just how much He loves me. I am reminded that my true foundation is the wisdom the Lord Jesus gives and because I know that I will always obey His commandments and grow in wisdom. Thank You Jesus for being victorious in my life! Amen.
