Key Verses: Psalm 120:1 and 121:1-2, 8…

“Author is Anonymous, some suggest Hezekiah”

I took my troubles to the Lord;
    I cried out to Him, and He answered my prayer.
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars
    and from all deceitful people.
O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you?
    How will He increase your punishment?
You will be pierced with sharp arrows
    and burned with glowing coals.

How I suffer in far-off Meshech.
    It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
I am tired of living
    among people who hate peace.
I search for peace;
    but when I speak of peace, they want war!

I look up to the mountains—
    does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth!

He will not let You stumble;
    the One who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, He who watches over Israel
    never slumbers or sleeps.

The Lord Himself watches over you!
    The Lord stands beside you as Your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon at night.

The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
    both now and forever.

PRAYER:

As I come to You in prayer, I want to thank You, Lord, that when I cry out to You in my distress, my prayers are answered. My troubles are an inconvenience that I need to endure while on this earth. But I’m thrilled that it is You Lord who rescues me in my time of need. I could cry out to the world and ask for help, but what kind of help would that bring! Certainly not anything useful or anything I should indulge in. No, it is You, Lord who rescues me and I praise Your Name for Your faithfulness. When I find myself in a desolate situation it is the Lord, the one who created both heaven and earth that I pray to for help. The Lord, my Savior, will not let me stumble, He watches over me, even when I am sleeping! And because the Lord watches over me, He can protect me from every situation. Thank You, Lord, for watching over me and keeping me from harm. I know You will watch everything I do both now and forever. Amen.
