Isaiah 9:6 – Christmas Day
6 “For a Child is born to us,
a Son is given to us.
The government will rest on His shoulders.
And He will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Merry Christmas! Today we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The day of Christ’s birth was the beginning of something new, something eternal, something magnificent to behold! Today our Savior is born!
While Mary was preparing a small manger to lay her son’s head, the Heavens and all the angels were preparing for the coming King.
Luke 2:7,
7 “She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped Him snugly in strips of cloth and laid Him in a manger…”
Even though the angel, Gabriel, told Mary she would give birth to the Son of God, right now, she is gazing upon the face of her beautiful baby boy. She is not thinking about all the things Gabriel told her He would accomplish while on earth. No, she was nuzzling a newborn baby, she was caring for her helpless little child. While Heaven is buzzing with excitement and celebration, it’s just Joseph and Mary quietly welcoming their son. Jesus.
The tradition for most people is to wait for the first day of a new year to make plans, goals and resolutions for the upcoming year. It’s because January 1 begins change and newness with a new year. But what if that tradition began with the birth of Jesus? What if we were to look to the day that brought incredible change to the world, not just the calendar? What if we put our trust in the Son of God and placed our resolutions on the things we learn from Scripture? Today the Son of God came into the world to bring Salvation. He will be called:
“Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 7:14,
14 “…Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Jesus was born into a sin filled world, but He Himself is without sin. He came to earth for one purpose, to die on a cross and rise again to bring salvation to anyone who believes in Him and accepts Him as Lord and Savior. But today, He is a newborn baby, looking up into the eyes of the young woman, Mary, the one God chose to care for Him, raise Him, nurture Him, teach Him.
Jesus – Immanuel – God is with us. He is everything to us! We place all of our hope in the Name of Jesus, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
As you spend this day celebrating with family and friends – make sure to take the time to celebrate the One who deserves all the praise, glory and celebration this day represents.
Happy Day to you and yours!
~AMEN~

Dear Jesus, You know my heart, all the things I have done and said. Please forgive me for my unbelief. Please forgive me for all of my sins. I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You came to earth to die on the cross for my sins. I believe You rose from the dead to give me freedom from sin and death. By faith through believing in Who You Are, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life, cleanse this heart of mine, white as snow. Help me not to doubt any longer and breathe life into me, fill me with Your light. Thank You Jesus! Amen.
- If you solemnly prayed this prayer, tell at least one person, so they can share in your joy!! I rejoice with you! All the angels in Heaven rejoice with you!
- It is very important to me that those who might be reading these journal pages of mine and don’t yet know the Lord Jesus Christ, that you make that decision. Today. Your heart and mind may not understand everything you have been reading, but if you open your heart to the truth of who Jesus is, you will be saved from sin and death. By the Power of the Holy Spirit you will be amazed at how quickly after giving your heart to the Lord your eyes and ears will be opened to the truth.
