Read James 1
Key verses: James 1:5-6…
5 “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”
Do you consider yourself wise? In what areas of your life do you draw wisdom? Do you seek wisdom from the things of this world, social media or non-believing friends? Or do you ask your generous Father in Heaven for the wisdom you need in all areas of your life?
God doesn’t want you to live a clueless life, He doesn’t want to see you fumbling around hopeless because you don’t know what to do with your life. No… He wants you to ask Him for wisdom. Every single day you will make decisions that could possibly affect the rest of your life, of course some decisions are minor, but when making a huge decision for your life, wisdom is needed. Who do you go to when making a decision like that? Do you seek the Lord and ask Him for His wisdom? Do you seek the answers from the Scriptures to make sure you are following God’s Will in that decision?
Wisdom shouldn’t be taken lightly, when you ask your Father in Heaven for wisdom, don’t go looking for it in other places. Keep your focus on the wisdom found in the Word of God and through faith filled prayer. “Do not waver.”
If you truly are seeking the Lord’s wisdom and want your life to be guided solely from what you find in Scripture and from the Will of God, then you need to be sincere in your request for wisdom. Don’t ask the Lord for wisdom if you aren’t going to look for the answers in your Bible.
Prayer:
Father God, I need wisdom in every area of my life. At home, at work, even in my leisure time. When I make any decision, no matter how small, I want to please You with the path I choose for my life. Lord give me Your wisdom. Give me understanding as I study Your Word. Help me to base the foundation of my life on Your wisdom. I do not want to waver in my loyalty, I want my life to be pleasing to You. Amen.
