Read Psalm Chapter 119:1-16

Key Verses: Psalm 119:1-3, 11…

“Author is Anonymous, some suggest Ezra the priest”

Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord.
Joyful are those who obey His laws
and search for Him with all their hearts.
They do not compromise with evil,
and they walk only in His paths.
You have charged us
    to keep Your commandments carefully.
Oh, that my actions would consistently
    reflect Your decrees!
Then I will not be ashamed
when I compare my life with Your commands.
As I learn Your righteous regulations,
I will thank You by living as I should!
I will obey Your decrees.
Please don’t give up on me!

How can a young person stay pure?
    By obeying Your word.
10 I have tried hard to find You—
don’t let me wander from Your commands.
11 I have hidden Your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against You.
12 I praise You, O Lord;
    teach me Your decrees.
13 I have recited aloud
all the regulations You have given us.
14 I have rejoiced in Your laws
    as much as in riches.
15 I will study Your commandments
    and reflect on Your ways.
16 I will delight in Your decrees
    and not forget Your word.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, when I follow Your instructions and search for You with my whole heart my joy is fulfilled. I am satisfied in Your presence, I don’t search anywhere else for instructions or regulations for my life, instead my searching always leads me to Your Word.  I live the way I should because I am following Your decrees. It is the only way my heart, mind and soul can remain pure and uncompromised. It is what helps me to stay away from any other path that leads me away from You. I have hidden Your Word in my heart, it is how I keep myself from sinful actions, behaviors and attitudes. Lord Jesus, I rejoice that I have Your commands, as I study Your Word and reflect on how You lived Your life here on earth, I delight in keeping Your decrees and I will never forget Your Word. Amen.
