Read Psalm Chapters 15 and 16
Key Verses: Psalm 15:1-2 and 16:7-9…
15:1 “Who may worship in Your sanctuary, Lord?
Who may enter Your presence on Your Holy Hill?
2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,
speaking the truth from sincere hearts.
3 Those who refuse to gossip
or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends.
4 Those who despise flagrant sinners,
and honor the faithful followers of the Lord,
and keep their promises even when it hurts.
5 Those who lend money without charging interest,
and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent.
Such people will stand firm forever.
16:1 Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge.
2 I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.”
3 The godly people in the land
are my true heroes!
I take pleasure in them!
4 Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods.
I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood
or even speak the names of their gods.
5 Lord, You alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
6 The land You have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance!
7 I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.
9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety.
10 For You will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow Your Holy One to rot in the grave.
11 You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of Your presence
and the pleasures of living with You forever.”
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I want my life to reflect a blameless and sincere heart. When I enter into Your presence count me as one of those who strives to do Your will. Help me Father to always stand firm, to never be led astray. Though trouble can knock at my door, I have confidence that it is You who will answer those who oppress me, keeping me safe and secure. Guide me, Lord. Instruct my heart. Thank You for standing right beside me. My heart is glad, and I rejoice in Your Name. Amen.
